The RYA PowerBoat Level 1 Course allows the holder to experience and take active part in powerboating, and being safe on-board whilst helping the skipper to steer and navigate at sea or on inland waters. This is an informative and enjoyable 1-day powerboat course, with a recognised RYA Certificate.
The courses are run every week and weekend - check-In/ Arrival is from 0900hrs at our LargsCentre. The day is spent on board in the Firth of Clyde & Islands powerboating area. High Speed and Low Speed exercises take place during the day, and there is plenty of opportunity to get some real hands-on experience and learning!
If you want to learn to skipper a powerboat, and take charge safely on passages with friends and family, or be able to hire a powerboat in the UK or abroad, you will need the 2-Day RYA PowerBoat Level 2 (Coastal/Tidal) Course. You don't need to do the Level 1 first, and no prior experience is required. See What To Bring, & Other Frequently Asked Questions >
If you want to start learning about powerboating, don't need to be in charge, and you just want a fun taster day - this course is for you!
